Bulk ink option.

A Printer Control PC is placed in an  enclosure near the printer and is used to control the printhead.  It can be used with NewsCom® through NewsLabel to automatically synchronize labels with NewsCom® Jobs or without a connection to NewsCom® in Standalone Mode.

QUIPP’s Printer System can be run in three modes:

 1) Standalone
At the start of each new zone/job, the operator loads the related labels into the Printer PC.  As  papers arrive at the print-head, the next available label is applied.

Since there is no coordination between the inserter and the printer, this mode can be used in conjunction with
NewsCom® or on non-NewsCom® systems.  This is the most commonly used mode.

2) Online
The printer PC and
NewsCom® are connected via NewsLabel.  The operator loads all of the labels into NewsCom®, typically in advance of the run.  This mode is helpful when you have numerous zones/jobs as it eliminates the need for the operator to load a new label file into the Printer PC at the start of each Zone/Job.  As papers arrive at the print-head, the next available label is applied.

3) Selective
The printer PC and
NewsCom® are connected via NewsLabel.  The operator loads all of the labels into NewsCom®, typically in advance of the run.  This mode is for “selective inserting”.  In addition, a management system is required to produce the necessary selective data (mapping inserts to specific address labels).  As papers arrive at the print-head, the specific label for the package is applied.

The Printer Control Panel (PCP) manages the signals from the sensors and the printer.

The PCP is responsible for tracking the papers from the printer to the stacker.

Codes embedded in the label file indicate when a postal carrier-route has completed.  This data is used to cause a stacker eject as the last paper of each carrier route is stacked.

The PCP is where the run mode is selected (see above).

· This printer is capable of printing the USPS Intelligent Barcode.
